#NowOrNeverglades
One of the perks to living in South Georgia is Thomasville’s proximity to Florida. We are thirty minutes from the Florida line and a little over an hour to the coast, allowing us to enjoy North Florida’s sunshine and water. As good stewards of Thomasville’s land, we are also good stewards of Florida’s water, both near us and far. We love to fish, swim and sun with our family and friends in Florida’s beautiful waters and it is a privilege we insist on protecting.
The Wright Group has signed the Now or Neverglades Declaration, which supports 200-plus Everglades scientists that want to restore the flow of clean, fresh water to the Everglades National Park, Florida Bay, and the Florida Keys, improve the health of Lake Okeechobee and to protect the drinking water for 8 million South Floridians. Protecting these waters also protects millions of jobs – those in the fishing, boating and tourism industries.
On April 11th, we are joining our fellow enthusiasts in Tallahassee for the NoworNeverglades Sportfishing Day. We are standing with our Floridian friends to discuss the importance of Florida’s Everglades and estuaries with their legislators – join us! Base camp is at The Edison Restaurant and the day will be capped off with a party in the park with lawmakers.
After signing the declaration, the Now or Neverglades team says “together we can turn the tide.” We couldn’t agree more.
